How to Put On and Use a Cock Ring or Penis Ring

Cock rings, or penis rings, are some of the simplest sex aids around.

So, what do cock rings do? Well, they prevent blood from flowing back down the penis, which in turn can help to make erections feel harder and last longer than usual, potentially making your enjoyment last longer and an orgasm more likely.

Some people choose a cock ring that is worn on the shaft, while others like the feeling of a cock ring that goes around both the penis and the testicles. This guide will show you how to put on both kinds of cock ring.

First, apply just a touch of water-based lubricant to the inside of the cock ring. This will make sure it can slide on smoothly and will make positioning easier.

The cock ring should be put on while the penis is flaccid (not erect). You should find it easy to slide the ring on over the head and to the base of your shaft.

Make sure the cock ring rests at the base of the shaft. As you become erect, the ring should become tighter, but not so tight that it causes discomfort.

A cock and ball ring (a single ring that sits around both the testicles and the penis) should also be put on when you are flaccid (not erect).

You will need to put the ring around the testicles first. Place one testicle through the ring, followed by the second, leaving the ring sitting around the scrotum.

You can then fold the head of your penis up through the ring. If you find it difficult, use some water-based lubricant on the cock ring, testicles and penis to help guide them through.

Safety first

It is recommended that you try your cock ring for size before relying on it in the bedroom.

It is generally advised to remove the cock ring after half an hour and to let the blood flow return to normal before giving it another go.

Cock rings are supposed to restrict blood flow and give you a slightly enlarged look, pronouncing veins and giving the penis a red blush.

Sometimes they are too tight to be good for you, though, and you should check for warning signs to ensure you aren't doing yourself any damage.

If you can see visible narrowing of the penis where the cock ring sits or a very red or blueish colour to the penis, the cock ring should be removed as it is too tight.

A larger cock ring, or one made from softer, stretchier material should be bought to replace it.
